While there is an excess of Swiss dive timepieces that touts water resistances of 1,000 meters and above, most divers nowadays are seen wearing a modest Seiko diver. This Japanese company is behind many of the most affordable, durable, and reliable dive watches since 1965 such as the Seiko SKX007 series, are being favored by people everywhere, from diving and scuba instructors to Army personnel and sport buffs. And why not? With its time-tested durability and better affordability, you wouldn’t have to worry about its longevity.

Stainless steel case
The Seiko SKX007 has a tough stainless steel case with 22-millimeter lugs, made thicker like their other divers. Its crown guard and screw down crown are oversized by design for better wrist clearance. It measures 13.25 millimeters from the bezel to the back of the case which display Seiko’s popular Tsunami icon.
The uni-directional bezel of the SKX007 is tight and positive, offering a total of 120 clicks for an improved diving experience. It has a decent bezel grip and lights up the lume pip at the 12 o’ clock mark very well.
Lumibrite hands and understated dial
For maximized readability, the dial of the Seiko SKX007 has an understated design, along with a readable and usable chapter ring. Its dial and hands feature the Lumibrite technology for proper viewing even at night. The Day and Date display are also made bigger for easier readability, and can be adjusted by dragging or rotating the wheel.
The SKX007 has 21 jewels, automatic 7s26 movement exclusive to Seiko divers. It features a non-hacking and non-windable, which is the norm for dive watches with the same price range. Superior accuracy and reliability is guaranteed even on vigorous activities or serious diving depths thanks to the patented Diashock protection featured within the 7s26 movement system.
Another Seiko technology exclusive in the SKX007 is the Hardlex crystal that gives the diver a flat front with a chamfered edge for better chipping resistance. This also gives a nice distortion effect on the lume dots when viewing sideways.
The Seiko SKX007 diver comes equipped with the “Jubilee” bracelet style with robust stainless steel links and folded end-links. The 22 millimeter lugs shortens to 20 millimeter when clasped to make loose or tight fits, providing further flex for superior comfort. It offers five adjustment holes to allow a custom, better fit. The Jubilee bracelet design make the SKX007 fit snugly to your wrist and prevents it from flopping around as you move.
